They're Here!; REVISITING...

There are some things I suspect we really dont want to know. There are things we already know that we ignore; it makes us feel better. We love our illusions. We enjoy thinking that the universe needs us and that we are its masters...we are the top of the food chain.....so far.

UFO ball

Most people have heard of the Roswell UFO incident, but not many have heard of the Kecksburg incident. Kecksburg is a town about 30 miles southeast of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and on December 9th 1965 a UFO (unidentified Flying Object) crashed in the woods near the town. Many speculate based on Eyewitness accounts and some circumstantial evidence that the object that crashed was extraterrestrial in nature. more...

Roswell officer's amazing deathbed admission raises possibility that aliens DID visit!
By NICK POPE

Exactly 60 years ago, a light aircraft was flying over the Cascade Mountains in Washington State, at a height of around 10,000ft.
Suddenly, a brilliant flash of light illuminated the aircraft. Visibility was good and as pilot Kenneth Arnold scanned the sky to find the source of the light, he saw a group of nine shiny metallic objects flying in formation.
He estimated their speed as being around 1,600 miles per hour - nearly three times faster than the top speed of any jet aircraft at the time.

Flying Triangle

OLD TOWN -- Zak Keenan writes, "Last week, Filer's Files reported about a college couple seeing a large flying triangle hovering 200 feet over the Catholic Church at 6:40 PM on January 10, 2003." I am a college student in Old Town, and a frequent reader of your reports, but I am a little skeptical of that UFO report. ...more....

About Media, Monsters and Children

My cohort's blogs, It Depends, always dislodges something noteworthy from my gleeming molded cranium...or so I tell myself that so I dont talk myself out of getting in another blog. Today is no different. Observation 1: He writes,
"Came across a passage in my readings at job #1: From Mandy Jones, a former slave: “The way colored folks would learn to read was from the white children…when they came out of school…slip off somewhere, and learn the colored children their lessons…” Frederick Douglass mentions talking to a group of kids his own age (young teenagers, I think) of a different skin pigment who were encouraging him, hopeful that he would be able to be enjoy the freedom they were looking forward to.

Children embody the best and worst of us, brutally whimsical and honest, able to almost effortlessly see through the brick walls we feel so clever about constructing around them. To kids there was no good reason for a fellow youngling who was probably their constant playmate to not be allowed to read, so they- some of them helped anyway. ....The pressure would be applied and applied until they were molded into what their parents were. Until that day when they weren’t.

Children by their nature can be quite cruel. Also true to their nature; they are quite forgiving. Somewhere through the anals of adulthood, we forget how to forgive or are at best not interested in forgiving. We dont want to play anymore with you; we are quite fine not knowing you anymore. We adults write it off as "knowing better." As adults, we "choose." What a powerful force. However; with great power comes great responsibility! Not forgiving tends to hurt us more than the envy of our lust.

Observation 2: The Media; love or hate it, it is the most pursuasive barometer today. Truth about the matter, everybody's got something they aren't proud of lurking in their past, present or future. While I have no sympathy for the governor of New York, I have quite a bit for his family. NO, I wouldnt want a camera following me around 24hrs a day either; even though there is. Nonetheless, thats another blog, not this one. It Depends makes its point quite well again...He writes:
Took a long time. Still, I wonder if the Civil Rights Movement would have taken longer and been bloodier without media coverage. Think about it. There were still color-laws in affect a century after the Civil War had been fought. It wasn’t until photographs and newsreels put people’s bad behavior front and center for the world to see that lasting change (hopefully) happened.
It is ONLY the fear of horrible things happening to us personally or our families that pictures have the power to awaken and terrify the humanity within each of us. In addition to these examples I am reminded of Rodney King, Darfur, Indonesia, 911, Hurricane Katrina and the war in Iraq. Pictures and video remove us from the safety of "over there" or "that was then" to a time not so far away or now. No thief steals when he knows you are watching. The media remains the most powerful force in the world.... The pen is mightier than the sword. So the answer is YES, many things would have been worse without the media. Besides, few ever confessed without the evidence staring them in the face. Beware of those who protest too much....

Finally, to keep this short, as much as we want to believe in heroes and angels; we as people are pretty ordinary...pretty determined not to stand out or make waves. History records the few that stood against the masses. I dont know where I would be is such situations; I guess it depends on what day they caught me. We spend all our time trying to stand out but we dont want to be singled out...what an odd normal....

The Divine Sadistic

No, not that Devine... My AGFA man was in today and we went about musing as he worked. Tech guys are their own form of genius. They are the McGuyvers of Geek. Anyway, my friend Harry has a son whom he is very proud of and is working on various missions national and international. He recalls some advice he had given his son regarding mean people. He said, "a positive attitude keeps you above the muck. Everybody gets down; but just remember how many people you piss off when you are so positive and you will be right back." I half-heartedly laughed, knowing my mind was trying to wrap or warp around my next blog.

....is the cat nice because she's nice or because she knows her motive.....?

I remember starting a new job and my boss being very ticked off that I was smiling all the time; especially if he was upset. That struck me as odd and a first. It didnt help that I was in a "religious" setting — aren't those the "happy people?" (YES, for those bubble heads wondering and you know who you are; I did and still wear my smiley face shirt). My mind was ignited with his advice. Being a bit off center, I could remember times that I enjoyed how much my smiling demeanor irritated others; I remember the sadistic irony that my pleasure brought pain; even if I wasn't really that happy, I smiled anyway because I enjoyed the thought of my private thrill. That's probably bad isn't it....oops; I'm not asking; nor do I care. Needlesstosay, I try to smile as much and often as possible. Sometimes a wave of "happiness" follows or preceedes me and I like that. There's an "energy buzz" I get from it and I think "they" get from it. It certainly paints the target.

Important Lessons to Remember:
1. Good people arent always happy people.
2. Happy people arent always good people.
3. Good things are often done for bad reasons.
4. Bad things exist for good reasons.
5. Even bad men love their mothers.

Forgive me if I smile harder....

ICE Ponies

snow ride

Ok...I couldn't let this image pass. Snow has a lot of different effects on different people. Luckily, I am a live and let live guy. At least it looks like they're having fun and everybody needs love. I leave you to draw your own conclusions.

...its only odd because its not you ...

Trapped Inside the INSIDE

Trapped Inside

Within each of us is us; within that are probably several more of us....I think you are getting the picture. The walls are as thin as they are strong...kinda like the Hotel California....you can check out anytime you like; but you can never leave... Sometimes we can "summon" any particular level or self the situation might require. Other times, one gets too dominant and doesn't share or have any courteous intentions. (you know what I mean, right, or am I the only crazy writer out here?) Anywhoo...when the egg carton is working well; nothing gets broken or at least the spill is contained. If that egg gets outside the carton, there's gonna be a cleanup. That reminds me of one my favorites, PULP FICTION, (great site http://lazyeyetheatre.blogspot.com) . This movie is crammed with great blog material and probably a few life lessons too. Every good mob has a "clean up man" Hmmm...I'm getting hungry thinking about it all. Pulp Fiction Hardees Commercial

Who are we? That's the question that launched a thousand thoughts. Observation: "we" is plural but "I" is always capitalized. That pretty much sums up the world. What do you think? Am I making sense yet or are you bored?

waiting
These fantastic images are property of Claudio Martinez, an absolutely amazing and talented photographer.

We have the furocious exteriors designed to protect us and ward off predators; and there's plenty of those, visible and invisible. In my fathers house are many mansions. In the dwelling of our minds are the siblings of ourselves waiting for their moment uptop. Sometimes its not good that dictators fall. Another strange truth inside the carton leaking on the counter. Anywhoo.....whew, this getting strange even for me (wink....right) probably not yet, eh? So I am going to shut up and look at these cool images. This stuff SPEAKS to me in seductive whispers beyond my ears, straight to my DNA, my binary code, my Apple-heart. Arent people an odd creation.....

Hungry Silences

HungryIn my silence is the purity of the noise. The voices carry on their conversations as if I was paying attention. However; obviously I am. The day drags by and I struggle to stay inspired. I have listened to self improvement podcasts and creative photoshop tuitorials. All great information that will benefit me at some point...or so I would like to believe. The crowded space in my mind still leaves me missing something and somehow lonely. I know that keeping myself busy helps or at least, again, I would like to believe that. I skipped my coffee shop today :( and had a milkshake instead. We are one person short today; and the energy is reflective. The balance of the universe is skewed...or at least I am, to be more accurate. Seems silence is my favorite commrade these days and the slope bends downward. I guess thats ok because I always survive; much to my chagrin.

cha·grin  (sh-grn)
n.
A keen feeling of mental unease, as of annoyance or embarrassment, caused by failure, disappointment, or a disconcerting event: To her chagrin, the party ended just as she arrived.
tr.v. cha·grined, cha·grin·ing, cha·grins
To cause to feel chagrin; mortify or discomfit: He was chagrined at the poor sales of his book. See Synonyms at embarrass.

Either way, the future is the same snake just with two tails and no head. The beginning and the end much the same and the body or its length having no relativity to the front or back but a duration of time between two points.

T - R- A - P - P - E - D -- I-N-S-I-D-E !

trapped inside

They say silence is golden. They're wrong. Its priceless. Life has a way of teaching its lessons in such a way to never be forgotten. As I sit here listening to one of the great Springsteen songs, "TRAPPED." I have not blogged in some time in hopes of getting around something trapped inside. Well, I am not sure who won, me or me. That will make sense to everyone who has considered theraphy. Nonetheless, everything has its price. Everything costs something; even if it leads to good. So this short attempt to elude blog blockage will leave you with a magnificient song.

TRAPPED
Seems like I'm caught up
in your trap
again
Seems like I'll be
wearing the same
old chains
Good will conquer
Evil
And the truth will
set me free
And I know some
day I will find
the key
I know
somewhere I will
find the key
Seems like I've
been playing your
game way too long
Seems the game
I've played has
made you strong
When the game is
over
I won't walk out the
loser
I know I'll walk
out of here again
I know someday
I'll walk out of
here again

Well now I'm
Trapped
OOh yeah
Trapped
OOh Yeah
Trapped ...more

How does one escape himself?
Who's reflection is it in there lurking back?
Does a porche become a stationwagon if never driven over 40 MPH?

Are these just clever or not-so-clever questions from a rambling mind struggling to be more than a grey maze? We often fall back on superstition and the mystic when we dont clearly see a solution before us or cannot easily explain our current lives. I have always managed to raise an eybrow from the establishment for one reason or another. The "establishment" tends to find my inquisiton for answers irreverant or in ill taste; I think not. WE can never settle for run of the mill answers or pretend the giant pink elephant in the room in spandex is not standing on our big toe; destined to follow the status quo and make no waves, ask no questions, and seek no true understanding. The world bleeds with hurting people in desperate situations sick of our "canned" responses long grown stale from our non-air-tight lives. That makes asking the questions worth while and seeking the answers a never-ending adventure. Some solutions require dirty hands and feet, eyes, lips and what not; that is the nature of the beast.

We are often trapped by ourselves. In truth, there are few we love as much as ourselves but many would be unwilling to admit that. I confess; if I had to be me; I would; especially when I have no answers or not-so-proud of the staring relfecion snickering at my self-ordained humanity. What darkness there lurks? The brilliant eyes of defiance gleeming in the blackness look out from a pool much darker to a world destined to become just as dark. It is those same eyes that burn with the light of indescribeable world yet to evolve or has already evolved before many times before now. The future is so bright I cant wear shades; my footsteps are invisible. Jello wiggles with no effort in an earthquake.
