I guess it should seem odd that noone is trustable, kind, honest, virtuous, etc....but aren't we always shocked by someone saying thank you or holding the door for us when our hands are full or offering to help us on side the road? Don't we always blink twice when someone is or does someting good anymore? In fact; sometimes you can go a whole week without encountering one of these "Little House on the Prairie" relics. I say that because my third favorite show always delivered a good message that you would hope to encounter in anyone everyday. You saw good examples of real life situations that someone CHOSE to do the right thing or at least Ma or Pa would make sure that good prevailed. In fact, once upon a time, the show was very popular. Whole families would gather and watch together, laughing as events surrounded these immaginary characters that seem to have the same problems as us. Funny, their solutions worked in real life too. Art imitates life and life imitates art; the same is true for trash. Do you know who your children are immitating now? It's probably the same thing you're watching. Guess what's poplular now. "Desperate Housewives," "Shoot 'em ups" and "sex 'em ups!"....hmmm....isn't it odd that what we watch is what we like and a close reflection of who we are or at least are trying to be....... But let's be real, we're adults, we know it's just TV and/or commercials.... The good thing about statistics; they are indifferent. Crime, divorce, rape, theft, intollerance, violence....all on the rise. Killers are younger and younger....more homes broken...more children molested.....more "trustable people" exposed in some grand scandal........not all nonstick surfaces are good......let the good stick!
