.....Alone Except for Lonliness

Well, my coworker, the Priminister of Pensive has done it again. This morning, I was introduced to an e. e. cummings poem entitled “lonliness.” This is what it looks like.
1(a... (a leaf falls on loneliness)

Basicly, in the middle of the word lonliness, a leaf falls. PROFOUND! I sit here looking out at the Batman Building and a leaf blows by. I can only imagine the oceans of lonliness that must accompany separation from the close knit community of leaves that belong to a tree. They blow around on the tree; but they are together for a long time. The trees in our lives are our families and friends. What can separate us from them?

The world is loaded with orphans and other singles separated or yet to be joined to something. Silence can be deafening. Terror lurks in the absence of sound. Sound allows us to locate, associate and relate. How tragic lonliness can be. It enslaves minds to their own devices of self made illusion and entertainment. Yes, you may adapt to that but ultimately there are only so many times you can talk to the reflection. E.E. Cummings said, “Here is the deepest secret nobody knows. Here is the root of the root and the bud of the bud. And the sky of the sky of a tree called life; Which grows higher than soul can hope or mind can hide. And this is the wonder that's keeping the stars apart. I carry your heart. I carry it in my heart.” Man, that’s heavy.

It’s odd that the normal things reveal so much truth. These simple things that we take for granted hold the very secrets about ourselves and our futures and masqarade them before our very eyes disguised in insignificant...written off as just nature. What an odd normal. Well done e. e. cummings.

There has been quite some debate about this one. It’s as startling as the noon day sun at midnight. The insight is an assault on labored logic.

Behind the Darkness

It was a very dark drive in. The clouds blocked out every evidence of the sunrise. It were as though something loomed behind the dingy grey clouds blocking the sun, waiting for its moment to be exposed; to enter into vision. History is much the same way....looming. In the study of history we can see what was evidently behind so many plots, philosophies and dogmas because in history we have the puzzle pieces and the picture on the box. No guess work required after the fact.

I Love Lemons!!!

Some flavors have a color and brightness that you just cannot resist. There is nothing like lemon. It's one of the greatest flavors ever created after orange. Not only is it a beautiful color, but you can take something bitter and make a favorite memory with just a bit of sugar. How odd they would make a lemon sheep...that just happens to be a timer. Hmmm....but time and lemons do kinda go together. Most faces forced to endure Time have that bitter look about them.
